i have never been so frustrated speaking on the phone before..
obviously the staff at S** are very incompetent and are incapable of communicating like a decent human being. I have no idea how they can even do sales..
they kept transferring me upstairs, downstairs, to the sales office, to the office...and I had to explain myself again and again and again. plus they couldn't speak English, either ONLY malay or ONLY chinese.
S** is actually a furniture shop. They also sell trunks as furniture. For those of you who don't know what a trunk is:
It was pretty evident they didn't know what a trunk was...
me: I want to know how much your trunks are
staff: apa tu? (What's that?)
me: Something like a big bag.
staff: kami tak ada (We don't have that)
me: I know you don't have bags. I said it looks like a bag. But you use it as a table.
staff: Ya kami ada table (Yes, we have tables)
me: I don't want a table. I want a trunk.
staff: Saya tak tahu apa you cakap la.
me: Macam beg besar untuk travel (Like a big bag for travelling) tapi you guna macam meja (but you use it as a table)
staff: Ya, kedai kami dekat travel shop (Yes, our shop is near a travel shop)
me: @.@ (thinking: kill me now)
They transferred me to another Malay girl
me: I'm looking for a trunk, but it can be used like a table:
staff 2: oh, meja ya. (oh, table ya)
me: Yes.
staff 2: oh. meja ya.
me: ........ yes.
staff 2: cari meja ya.
me: -_- YES.
I seriously wanted to kill someone.
In the end I got the delivery order from their shop. It was stated as 'storage box' so I called them again. This time it was a Chinese girl
me: I want to check how much your storage box is.
staff: we don't have box.
me: we bought it from your shop before, you have it.
staff: What's that?
me: Storage box. It's like a table.
staff: How to say?
me: STORAGE BOX (very slowly)
staff: HAR? stolen box????
me: -.-"
I got really fed up.
me: Can I just send you an email with a picture of it, and then can you give me a quote?I'll give you the product code number also in the e-mail.
staff : Wait ar. (transfers me to someone else)
me: -_-
staff B: meh si? ('What's the matter?' in Cantonese)
me: I want your email address.
staff B: oh ok. Tang ah ('Wait ah) (Puts me on hold)

staff C: Apa hal (What's the matter?)

Called another branch up, they wouldn't give me the quote. WTH??? do they not want business? Seriously!!
Called another branch with code number ready. The code number of the box has this pattern on it:
me: I want to buy your storage box .Code number *********
staff: Oh we don't have stock.
me: OK. Where got?
staff: the other side
me: -.- where's the other side?
staff: er...I dont know how to say
me: another branch?
staff: No. Here don't have. Other side got.
me: What is other side?? I don't know what you are talking about. Factory? Office??
staff: No.
me: -_- Anyway can you tell me what colors and designs you have?
staff: Oh got 2 designs.
me: OK.
staff: One is US flag.
me: You mean UK. Anyway ok. what else?
staff: another one is yellow and red line.
me: OK. (thinking: yellow and red stripes. ok.)
staff: Then up there got stars.
me: OK. (Thinking: up there must mean the top). What color are the stars?
staff: White. and got blue.
me: So white and blue stars?
staff: No. White. and then got blue.
me: -.- OK.
