金门

posted by tkl

2 weeks ago, I went to Kinmen. It's my maternal grandmother's hometown. I wasn't very keen on going initially but i don't know why for some reason i decided to go.

We took a ferry from Xiamen, the ride was only half an hour. But because there'd been a bad fog early that morning, we'd to wait till late afternoon to take the ferry over. The wait was such a drag!!

We got there late evening, had some tea at my relative's and then went to look for our hotel. It was quite dark and the night fog was setting in. We'd booked a 'homestay' and didn't really know what to expect. When we got to the road where it was supposed to be at..it looked really really spooky in the dark and fog! My mom even suggested leaving and foregoing our deposit hahaha.

When we got in, I loved it!

They even provide a very yummy breakfast of pork congee cooked till just the right texture and freshly cooked deliciously crunchy yau cha kwai!!

This is how it looks from the outside (when it's not quite so dark and creepy, haha):

If you're looking to have a holiday that's not run of the mill. To connect with nature. Yet stay in a very decent and comfortable place I recommend going to Kinmen and staying there. Grace Homestay. There are so many other pictures I took but I can't put up coz the quality's so bad hahaha i need a new camera~~

Don't forget to try 高粱酒 (Gao Liang Jiu) in Kinmen!Yum!! We even tried Gao Liang milk tea. Yum~~ It's made from rice grown in Kinmen. Walking near the factory you can even smell it~ They say if you drink a little everyday you'll live a healthy life till a ripe old age hahaha.. It's quite strong though so don't drink too much ; )

Draw something

do you play 'Draw Something'?

This is a peacock I drew on it:

I have to say I'm quite pleased with it. The iPhone screen is quite small ok! but for the most part i've been drawing really ugly stick figures hahaha...

Check out this guy's blog: Bobby's Draw Something

I mean, seriously, look at this:

Fishies! Wake up fishies!

He takes Draw Something to a totally new level! I wonder how he does it? iPad and pen? And how much time he spends drawing one picture!! Salute~~

村田雄介

posted by tkl

When people find out I worked in Japan, they always almost automatically assume I'm some kinda anime or manga freak. I'm NOT. I used to read manga occasionally but only during periods of boredom then I'd read alot then lose interest and forget it for months n months..

1 of the few mangas I really liked and actually finished was Eyeshield 21. 村田雄介was the illustrator. It's about American football but I absolutely enjoyed reading it. It was funny and interesting. I love how a manga can be about something totally random yet all kinds of people can love reading it and relate to it. As long as there are interesting characters and an interesting story line.

He recently gained a lot of publicity due to his 3D manga. 1 of his pics are below:

Cool or what???

To see the rest go here.

He tweets all his art. Follow him on Twitter if you're interested!

I wish I could draw like this! I've always admired artsy people..Unfortunately usually when I look at a piece of blank paper my mind just turns up...blank..hahahahaha..

I still remember I took some personality test years back..and my creativity came up 2/100! T.T oh well..some have it and some don't right? haha..

Childhood

posted by wjx

When I was a kid, mum and dad bought lotsa diecast cars. Sadly I didn't take care of them. I was more likely to use them as a weapon against my neighbour back in Subang (1987), a kid, a year older than me. He liked my cars and sharing wasn't an option! So I took the cars and hit his face. Oh I scratched his whole face too. He must be traumatised till today. I will find you...again good ol' friend.

Here are some of my barely surviving ones.

A world filled with imagination

I became the richest boy in the neighborhood

The tough crowd.

I want my childhood days back.

Djezna's Stalker in Doppel Cafe

posted by wjx

As a warm up gig for the band, we headed to Doppel for an acoustic set after the Chinese New Year holidays.

Pictures credit to Ewan, our band photographer.

There were 3 of us that night, me (percussions and backup vocals), Ahmad (acoustic guitar and lead vocals) and William (electric guitar and backup vocals). Since it was an acoustic set, we performed as a trio. 1 member, Jugs remained seated as part of the audience and another 1, Jer didn't make it. Boo to him.

Nice of TKL to bring in some fans. haha!

We had a full band performance in Downtown KL on 25th Feb. We rocked till the stage planks wobbled. Hmm, no damage recorded. Still waiting for pictures to come in though.

So it's March. we got more gigs coming up. Remember to like us and follow our updates. Not forgetting our twitter (kinda dead -.-) which is in the blog. Search for it.....

kasut yang controversial

I finally got my shoes back. They'd been at the cobbler since I think around October last year..the cobbler kept saying 'forgot' or 'next time' or 'belum lagi lah'...it was quite annoying having to go bug him every day n see him shake his head at me. To be fair I did forget a couple of times when he told me 'tomorrow' or 'nxt monday' to go see him but hey, he still took forever to return them to me.

When i got my shoes home i remembered something. Maumau and i had an argument last time about what color these shoes were! So I asked wjx what color they were and he said the same color as Maumau! n we got into an argument about it hahahaha..

I won't tell you what colors we thought they were so you can't take sides..But take a look and decide for yourself!

And vote:

What colour are the shoes?

JLPT

So I passed the JLPT test that I took end of last year that I totally seriously thought I was going to fail. I was sooo tired when I took the test because I'd been up late almost every night leading up to the test having too much fun with Chibu who was around that time and my friends..(Chibu's trip to Msia for the 3rd time)

anyway, although I passed I didn't feel any happiness or elation or whatever...I don't really think I deserved to pass because most of the time I was like ??wtf?? reading the test paper...

Also, the results r kinda blah as you can see..i can hear ppl saying 'it's ok what...blahblahblah' but how can it compare to last year's results:

By the way the score is a scaled score..meaning I didn't get all the answers right...so wipe that 'she's such a nerd/geek' thought off your mind

Bet u're still thinking that anyway right damn u

This isn't the first time I thought I'd failed but ended up scraping through...when I was studying in the UK on student exchange, I thought I'd failed on 1 test...I even emailed Uni of Melb after the test asking what would happen if I failed a subject at the Uni of Notts?? hahahhaa...

I don't miss taking tests in uni anymore..the stress and non stop studying..UGH

Now I guess I'm faced with the question...Should I take N1?? well...definitely not happening this year..hahaha wayyy too difficult! N i'm way behind..lots to catch up on...next year?perhaps..who knows..

Anyway takde semangat lagi untuk slog haha
